Edgard Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes in the game, Rubinho Cardoso dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Mazinho Vergílio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind DIAMONDS's goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Oséas Toscano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mathias Guimarães came out and tried to block the shot, but Oséas Toscano slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 31st minute. If Oséas Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubinho Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mazinho Vergílio to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Bonecu SS got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Nunes. In the 53rd match minute, Bonecu SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Nunes to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute Mazinho Vergílio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmílson Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubinho Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Mathias Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséas Toscano in the 77th minute of play. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind DIAMONDS's goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mazinho Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmílson Damião having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mathias Nunes during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. DIAMONDS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
