Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovani Mendes to make the kick off. Valdomiro Pimenta's late challenge caught a Atlético Céu Azul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valdomiro Pimenta helped the player get up and apologised. Atlético Céu Azul's Natã Correia was substituted for Leonardo Peres. Natã Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Luís Paulo Mesquita was a little too slow when Zé Augusto de Moraes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 0-5. In the 95th minute Zé Augusto de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Natã Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlético Céu Azul's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
