Assungui EC's Maicon Jacinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Schmidt in the 15th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Márcio de Castro got free with Mathias Guimarães in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 29 minutes into the match, Assungui EC's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Vergílio came free, but Maicon Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd match minute, DIAMONDS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vivaldo Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. Márcio de Castro might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mathias Guimarães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Márcio de Castro ran back to his position shaking his head. Assungui EC's Agnaldo Melo got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 58 minutes into the game, Márcio de Castro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Mathias Guimarães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 60th minute, Cristiano de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. DIAMONDS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adilson Guerra in the 63rd minute. Adilson Guerra made a great header on DIAMONDS's corner, it was just that Assungui EC's Maicon Jacinto managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 69th minute, one of DIAMONDS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for DIAMONDS. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agnaldo Melo in the 80th minute of play forced DIAMONDS's goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute, Agnaldo Melo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Assungui EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agnaldo Melo in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mathias Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Assungui EC's Maicon Jacinto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Assungui EC from getting a goal against them. In the 93rd minute, one of Assungui EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Assungui EC. Mathias Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Velloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 101st minute. Assungui EC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of DIAMONDS for a fine match.
