Renatinho Netto started the match with the kick off. Simão Bertassi was a little too slow when Zé Augusto de Moraes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 15th match minute, ABANDONEI O TIME was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hudson Maia to maneuver through the defense. Simão Bertassi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonardo Peres in the 17th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Luiz Fernando Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Céu Azul's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Fernando Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simão Bertassi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonardo Peres let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 21st minute shot 2-0 at rihgt post. Zé Augusto de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Simão Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonardo Peres got free with Simão Bertassi in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Leonardo Peres could shoot a difficult shot in the 36th minute, which Simão Bertassi however easily saved by the left post. If Zé Augusto de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renatinho Netto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Neiva having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Atlético Céu Azul's Leonardo Peres sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Simão Bertassi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Augusto de Moraes made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Peres in the 55th minute of play forced ABANDONEI O TIME's goalkeeper Simão Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Augusto de Moraes in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simão Bertassi saved ABANDONEI O TIME from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in ABANDONEI O TIME's zone, Zé Augusto de Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simão Bertassi came out of the goal and Zé Augusto de Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Simão Bertassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Peres in the 63rd minute of the match. A collision led to ABANDONEI O TIME getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ian de Mendonça hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the game, Hudson Maia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ABANDONEI O TIME's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Céu Azul the free kick. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ABANDONEI O TIME! In the 71st minute Zé Augusto de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Atlético Céu Azul booed when ABANDONEI O TIME was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hudson Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Simão Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Augusto de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After some careless play in the ABANDONEI O TIME defense, Leonardo Peres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simão Bertassi. The ABANDONEI O TIME fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simão Bertassi should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in ABANDONEI O TIME's zone, Leonardo Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simão Bertassi came out of the goal and Leonardo Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Zé Augusto de Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Atlético Céu Azul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Augusto de Moraes couldn't finish the play. Leonardo Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Simão Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Augusto de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ABANDONEI O TIME's Simão Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Augusto de Moraes in the 95th minute of play. After 96 minutes, Pedro Augusto Meirelles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ABANDONEI O TIME and the Atlético Céu Azul players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the referee ended the match the Atlético Céu Azul players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
