Mathias Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Mandrak, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After a defensive mix-up in DIAMONDS's zone, Basílio Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathias Guimarães came out of the goal and Basílio Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vivaldo Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After having played for 17 minutes, Edgard Maranhense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DIAMONDS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Maranhense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, SER ITATIAIA's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Vergílio came free, but Fabiën van Steensel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, DIAMONDS's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Mandrak came free, but Mathias Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mathias Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SER ITATIAIA. In the 42nd match minute, DIAMONDS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. Marco Mandrak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Mathias Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Mathias Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Mandrak in the 89th minute of play.
