A wasted opportunity for DIAMONDS. 7 minutes into the match, Guaimim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dário Schmidt came free, but Luís Paulo Mesquita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geovani Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the game, one of Guaimim FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Luís Paulo Mesquita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazinho Vergílio in the 25th minute of the match. DIAMONDS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Geovani Mendes scored to the left of an out of position Mathias Guimarães, making the score, 1-0. Mazinho Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Luís Paulo Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Paulo Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dário Schmidt, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Mazinho Vergílio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mazinho Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Mesquita having to interfere. Guaimim FC's Luís Paulo Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Schmidt in the 52nd minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mazinho Vergílio to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Guaimim FC's zone, Mazinho Vergílio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Paulo Mesquita came out of the goal and Mazinho Vergílio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 62 played minutes, Guaimim FC's Nuno Rodrigues shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guaimim FC reached it. Geovani Mendes took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mathias Guimarães. Mathias Guimarães dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 79th minute, Valdomiro Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Mazinho Vergílio came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the DIAMONDS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mazinho Vergílio couldn't finish the play. If Gernando Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Dário Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mazinho Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Mesquita having to interfere. After 99 played minutes, Guaimim FC's Humberto Camargo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guaimim FC reached it. Guaimim FC's Geovani Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 100th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Guaimim FC were victorious despite being under pressure from DIAMONDS for much of the match.
