Malicia's Breno de Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Malicia from getting a goal against them. When Luiz Gustavo Bittencourt fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malicia's protests and gave Luiz Gustavo Bittencourt a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th match minute, Malicia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Gustavo Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. Goulart's Vitinho de Queirós couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 10th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Malicia. After 16 played minutes Goulart got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Duarte. Vitinho de Queirós placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 28 minutes into the match, Malicia's goal looked a bit too open when Hortêncio Cordeiro came free, but Breno de Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Kaká Brodel came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Goulart fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kaká Brodel couldn't finish the play. Hortêncio Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 37 minutes, Luiz Gustavo Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malicia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Gustavo Bittencourt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th minute Hortêncio Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Breno de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Hortêncio Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goulart's supporters rose to their feet, but Hortêncio Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Breno de Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Hortêncio Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Kaká Brodel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Luiz Gustavo Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kaká Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno de Toledo having to interfere. Breno de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Brodel in the 67th minute of the match. Breno de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká Brodel in the 69th minute of play. Malicia's Genílson Mazza got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Malicia booed when Goulart was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Léo Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sílvio Sabóia was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Luiz Gustavo Bittencourt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luiz Gustavo Bittencourt really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Kaká Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Breno de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Breno de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hortêncio Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
