The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazinho Vergílio in the 7th minute of play forced Bonecu SS's goalkeeper Edmílson Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rubinho Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind DIAMONDS's goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazinho Vergílio in the 16th minute of play forced Bonecu SS's goalkeeper Edmílson Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 0-2 became the score in the 28th minute when Rubinho Cardoso elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 35th match minute, Bonecu SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Nunes to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute of the match DIAMONDS got a corner. Bonecu SS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adilson Guerra ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 39th minute, Mazinho Vergílio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Dário Schmidt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubinho Cardoso in the 46th minute of play forced DIAMONDS's goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vivaldo Schmidt hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 52nd match minute, DIAMONDS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Fernando Cerezo to maneuver through the defense. Mathias Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oséas Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the game, Mathias Nunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bonecu SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DIAMONDS the free kick. 57 minutes into the match, Bonecu SS's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Vergílio came free, but Edmílson Damião reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rubinho Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathias Guimarães having to interfere. Edmílson Damião showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazinho Vergílio in the 66th minute of the match. Vivaldo Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tostão Cabral charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tostão Cabral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 77 played minutes Bonecu SS got a freekick which was hit by Tostão Cabral. After having played for 81 minutes, Dário Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DIAMONDS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dário Schmidt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 82nd match minute, Bonecu SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Nunes to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute Mazinho Vergílio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmílson Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. DIAMONDS's Mathias Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubinho Cardoso in the 92nd minute of play. Oséas Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bonecu SS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
