João Francisco Sampaio hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the game, Hermínio Rossi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Renan Carneiro. Hermínio Rossi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Guto Brodel's late challenge caught a BENAGRAF CARTUCHOS F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guto Brodel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Guto Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Norberto Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 34 minutes into the match, Amauri Camargo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luisinho Urbano. Santos Futebol Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gualter Alagoano ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guto Brodel got free with Renan Carneiro in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hermínio Rossi to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hermínio Rossi in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renan Carneiro saved BENAGRAF CARTUCHOS F.C. from getting behind.
