Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sílvio Luís de Lima started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Galo 1908's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Luís de Lima came free, but Pedrinho Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 5th match minute, Jacuricy EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléber Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute João Vítor Furlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Váldson Esteves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonso Marquez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. João Vítor Furlan struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Afonso Marquez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galo 1908. With his leg Pedrinho Secco managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Jacuricy EC's Sílvio Luís de Lima fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Carlos Eduardo Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Pedrinho Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th match minute, Jacuricy EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luís de Lima to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute, Sílvio Luís de Lima fired away an extremely well hit free kick, but unfortunately the ball went just outside to the right hand side of Pedrinho Secco. Pedrinho Secco made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Romário Vander sent off a good shot on target. When Sílvio Luís de Lima came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Jacuricy EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sílvio Luís de Lima couldn't finish the play. After having played for 29 minutes, João Vítor Furlan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galo 1908's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Vítor Furlan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Galo 1908's goalkeeper Pedrinho Secco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Vítor Furlan in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Afonso Marquez saved Jacuricy EC from getting behind. In the 40th minute Romário Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho Secco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Vítor Furlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Kléber Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Vítor Furlan was the one to do the kick off. If Romário Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Galo 1908's William Correia got a free kick in the 54th minute. If Sílvio Luís de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedrinho Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Dante in the 57th minute of play. Kléber Paraibano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Galo 1908's Cléberson Andrade got a free kick in the 60th minute. After a rather tough play, Jacuricy EC's Kléber Paraibano got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Afonso Marquez was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ediberto Sousa. Pedrinho Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Vander in the 72nd minute of play. When William Correia fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galo 1908's protests and gave William Correia a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Galo 1908! In the 81st minute there was a penalty for Jacuricy EC. Sílvio Luís de Lima stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pedrinho Secco. 2-0. In the 84th minute Romário Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho Secco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tião Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Pedrinho Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Romário Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Eduardo Gomes took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedrinho Secco. Pedrinho Secco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. There was no doubt that Jacuricy EC were the better team. Jacuricy EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
