Valdomiro Aparecido charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdomiro Aparecido the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Santos Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Sports Lago de Aripuanã's Maximo Umea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Brodel in the 5th minute of play. After 6 minutes, Nando Sousa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sports Lago de Aripuanã and the Santos Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maximo Umea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guto Brodel in the 7th minute of play. 0-1 became the score in the 9th minute when Guto Brodel elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 14thth minute of the game Guto Brodel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sports Lago de Aripuanã's Maximo Umea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Sports Lago de Aripuanã's goal looked a bit too open when Hermínio Rossi came free, but Maximo Umea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nando Sousa was shown his second yellow card after 16 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 16th match minute, Sports Lago de Aripuanã was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Ciro Magalhães hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Rossi in the 26th minute of play forced Sports Lago de Aripuanã's goalkeeper Maximo Umea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Guto Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, Sports Lago de Aripuanã's goal looked a bit too open when Hermínio Rossi came free, but Maximo Umea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maximo Umea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Rossi in the 47th minute of play forced Sports Lago de Aripuanã's goalkeeper Maximo Umea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Sports Lago de Aripuanã players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Santos Futebol Clube were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cléber Matos was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Santos Futebol Clube booed when Sports Lago de Aripuanã was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ademar Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Guto Brodel could shoot a difficult shot in the 61st minute, which Maximo Umea however easily saved by the left post. In the 65th minute, Sports Lago de Aripuanã's Dedê Vianna seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dedê Vianna the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sports Lago de Aripuanã protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dedê Vianna had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sports Lago de Aripuanã fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! In the last second Maximo Umea throw himself and got hold of the ball when Hermínio Rossi in the 93rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Santos Futebol Clube played a much better game than Sports Lago de Aripuanã and deserved their victory. The Sports Lago de Aripuanã players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
