Umburatiba AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jurujuba the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Umburatiba AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ediberto Paulista to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Luiz Paulo Santos made a precise shot to the right of Célio Recife. Umburatiba AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Célio Recife showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Paulo Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Gualter Britto hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. The supporters of Jurujuba booed when Umburatiba AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Paulista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jurujuba's Franklin Teles couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Umburatiba AD. Inácio Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Vítor Teixeira having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Inácio Passos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Jurujuba got a freekick which was hit by Vânderson Nunes. After a rather tough play, Jurujuba's Didi Moura got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute, Rubinho da Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of Umburatiba AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jurujuba:s goal. Luiz Paulo Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Luiz Paulo Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Célio Recife was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacinto Matorin got free with Célio Recife in the 100th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Jurujuba supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jurujuba would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
