The referee ignored Crickets FC's protests and gave Márcio Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. Célio Recife made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Nico Magalhães sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Crickets FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Vivaldo Zonta hit a great ball. Nico Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Célio Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Inácio Passos in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Igor Xavier saved Crickets FC from getting behind. Nico Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Célio Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, Eurico Vinhas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Umburatiba AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crickets FC the free kick. Eurico Vinhas hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. With his leg Célio Recife managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Crickets FC's Zeca Prestes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 31 minutes of play, Umburatiba AD's Rubinho da Cunha made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Igor Xavier was left in no man's land by his defense there! Umburatiba AD's Célio Recife proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Umburatiba AD from getting a goal against them. After having played for 38 minutes, Márcio Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crickets FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Márcio Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Célio Recife successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Inácio Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Igor Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Umburatiba AD defense, Nico Magalhães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Célio Recife. The Umburatiba AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Célio Recife should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nico Magalhães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Nico Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Márcio Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. With a little luck, Crickets FC's Igor Xavier got control of the ball when Rubinho da Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rubinho da Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Igor Xavier made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Nico Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crickets FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nico Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Célio Recife breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Igor Xavier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Zeca Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Crickets FC's Nico Magalhães in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Umburatiba AD's goalie prevented a goal. Crickets FC's Márcio Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 88 minutes, Nico Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crickets FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nico Magalhães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronaldinho Furlan charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ronaldinho Furlan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Crickets FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Ronaldinho Furlan hit a great ball. Crickets FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
