Crickets FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vivaldo Zonta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Veneciano booed when Crickets FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oscar Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 11 minutes into the game, when Armando Batista put in a rough tackle. Aloísio de Sousa placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Oscar Lira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vivaldo Zonta's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Márcio Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 21 minutes, Vivaldo Zonta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Veneciano's Oscar Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Márcio Nunes in the 22nd minute of play. In the 26th minute Vivaldo Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Vivaldo Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Márcio Nunes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oscar Lira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Márcio Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Lira having to interfere. After 35 minutes, Vivaldo Zonta made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Veneciano's Oscar Lira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 41 played minutes, Crickets FC's Roberto Valladares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Oscar Lira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Crickets FC reached it. In the 43rd minute, Márcio Nunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oscar Lira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vivaldo Zonta's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute, Márcio Nunes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Crickets FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3.

The wind increased when Vivaldo Zonta made the kick off in the second half. With his leg Oscar Lira managed to avoid a goal in the 59thth minute, when Crickets FC's Vivaldo Zonta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Veneciano's zone, Márcio Nunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Lira came out of the goal and Márcio Nunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Crickets FC's Angelo Mesquita got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Renatinho Zonta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Igor Xavier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Márcio Nunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Crickets FC's Roberto Valladares shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Oscar Lira but with some difficulty. Vivaldo Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Oscar Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Márcio Nunes struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Oscar Lira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crickets FC. Márcio Nunes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 79th minute. Crickets FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Vivaldo Zonta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oscar Lira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Vivaldo Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oscar Lira came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Crickets FC's Márcio Nunes. But to his dismay, Márcio Nunes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Vivaldo Zonta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Oscar Lira made a huge save. In the 93rd minute Márcio Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Igor Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Arce in the 95th minute of play. Crickets FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
