Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Célio Recife successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Célio Recife came out of the goal and Raphael de Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Umburatiba AD's Célio Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarbas Barral in the 46th minute of play. After having played for 48 minutes, Zé Roberto Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hawks's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Roberto Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Inácio Passos to strike the kick off in the second half. Umburatiba AD's Inácio Passos got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 55 minutes into the match, Hawks's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Passos came free, but Jarbas Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jarbas Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Inácio Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Umburatiba AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Inácio Passos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jarbas Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jarbas Barral kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Umburatiba AD's corner Antônio Carlos Maciel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jarbas Dias quite easily take care of the ball. Rubinho da Cunha's late challenge caught a Hawks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubinho da Cunha helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Umburatiba AD getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Rubinho da Cunha hit a great ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jarbas Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Passos in the 79th minute of the match. Zé Roberto Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Recife having to interfere. After having played for 94 minutes, Inácio Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Umburatiba AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inácio Passos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Inácio Passos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jarbas Dias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
