The audience was convinced that Marcus Gonçalves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olavo Couto was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as OldSkull United's Arlindo Negri slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olavo Couto. That made the score 0-4 after 77 minutes of play. Olavo Couto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Gonçalves in the 80th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marquinhos Donato got free with Olavo Couto in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 86 minutes into the match, Marquinhos Donato had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olavo Couto. PALMEIRAS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marquinhos Donato was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5.
