The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Manuel Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Luiz Paulo Carioca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 9th minute, Roger Luz made a precise shot to the right of Armando Sergipano. OldSkull United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 12th minute Marcus Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateus Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sérgio Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Detronados's goal looked a bit too open when Marquinhos Donato came free, but Mateus Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mateus Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marquinhos Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th match minute, Detronados was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Luz to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute, Marcus Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Luiz Paulo Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hernani Loyola hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. When OldSkull United's Marquinhos Donato in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mateus Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Arlindo Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot. OldSkull United's supporters rose to their feet, but Arlindo Negri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mateus Moraes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cipriano Fantini made a kick off. Detronados's Mateus Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Gonçalves in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Detronados's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Gonçalves came free, but Mateus Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute, Hernani Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. OldSkull United's Marcus Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Detronados's Manuel Montenegro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Manuel Montenegro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Detronados protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Manuel Montenegro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Detronados! Percival Lopez might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armando Sergipano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Percival Lopez ran back to his position shaking his head. After 72 played minutes Detronados got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Romero. After recieving a nice pass, OldSkull United's Luciano Vander tried to score from far away in the 73rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Marcus Gonçalves charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcus Gonçalves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 83 played minutes Detronados got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Romero. After a rather tough play, OldSkull United's Marquinhos Donato got a free kick in the 84th minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Percival Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Detronados's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percival Lopez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Detronados's Mateus Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Gonçalves in the 89th minute of play. After having played for 91 minutes, Percival Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Detronados's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percival Lopez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Armando Sergipano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Romero in the 95th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. OldSkull United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
