The referee felt a red card was in order, 3 minutes into the game, when Egídio Guimarães put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Detronados:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Santos FC:s goal. When Percival Lopez came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Detronados fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Percival Lopez couldn't finish the play. After 8 minutes, Alan Mangueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santos FC and the Detronados players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 9 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Alan Mangueira. 10 minutes into the match, Roger Luz notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Santos FC's Vitório Lucas. Vitório Lucas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Roger Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Vitório Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Percival Lopez came free, but Vitório Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sérgio Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Detronados booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Vítor Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 21 minutes, Roger Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Detronados's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roger Luz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roger Luz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Percival Lopez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vitório Lucas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. If Roger Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Detronados's Roger Luz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vitório Lucas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Detronados booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Percival Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sérgio Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35thth minute of the game Roger Luz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santos FC's Vitório Lucas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Roger Luz struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Vitório Lucas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Detronados. In the 39thth minute of the game Sérgio Romero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santos FC's Vitório Lucas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Percival Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Roger Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Detronados's supporters rose to their feet, but Roger Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitório Lucas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Mateus Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeferson Dionísio in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd minute, Geraldo Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 53rd minute of the match Ruy Matorin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mateus Moraes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Detronados's goal looked a bit too open when Jeferson Dionísio came free, but Mateus Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Detronados's Samuel Rezende got a free kick in the 58th minute. After 59 minutes of play, Santos FC's Fred Correia made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mateus Moraes was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Detronados booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Detronados was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernani Loyola to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 67 minutes, Roger Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Detronados's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roger Luz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Fred Correia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mateus Moraes was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. 71 minutes into the match, Roger Luz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vitório Lucas, 1-2. Sérgio Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Cipriano Fantini kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Sérgio Romero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Vitório Lucas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Ruy Matorin got a free kick in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Percival Lopez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Detronados's Sérgio Romero got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Detronados played a much better game than Santos FC and deserved their victory. The Santos FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
