Neurônios EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cauan Pimenta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th match minute, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuri Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. When Cauan Pimenta fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Neurônios EC's protests and gave Cauan Pimenta a yellow card for diving instead. Téo Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Abraão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cauan Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Geovanni Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Neurônios EC's Téo Abraão got control of the ball when Claudinei Abraão tried to sneak it across the goal line. Geovanni Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cauan Pimenta in the 67th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's zone, Cauan Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovanni Passos came out of the goal and Cauan Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cauan Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Beto da Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Neurônios EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beto da Silveira couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the match, Neurônios EC's goal looked a bit too open when Lenílson Sabóia came free, but Téo Abraão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute, Eduardo Negri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastião Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduardo Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Neurônios EC's Beto da Silveira got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the referee ended the match the Neurônios EC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
