An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Sá in the 14th minute of play forced Codorna do Agreste's goalkeeper Sidnei Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sidnei Marquez made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Clóvis Goiano sent off a good shot on target. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for André Luiz Xavier to strike the kick off in the second half.
