With his leg Kaká Macedo managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Borussia Dortmund's Fred Machado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Pedro Campidelis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovani Montenegro in the 25th minute of play. Pedro Campidelis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovani Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caveira's Kaká Macedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Caveira from getting a goal against them. After 30 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Pedrinho da Rocha. When Caveira's Geovani Montenegro in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Borussia Dortmund's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fred Machado got free with Kaká Macedo in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Borussia Dortmund's Agostinho Couto got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 1-0 became the score in the 43rd minute when Fred Machado elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geovani Montenegro made a kick off. A hard shot 55 in the game by Deivid Mattos from a close distance when the talented Pedro Campidelis managed to make a qualified save. Borussia Dortmund's players were relieved. After having played for 60 minutes, Agostinho Couto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borussia Dortmund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agostinho Couto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Caveira's Deivid Mattos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Campidelis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 97 played minutes Robinho Mello shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Caveira's Kaká Macedo to catch but Robinho Mello was lucky. It became 2-2 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Caveira succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Borussia Dortmund had controlled the match.
