Chico Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Tiago Arósio charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tiago Arósio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th minute, one of Estrema:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Estrema. The referee gave Codorna do Agreste a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Felipe Marquez, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Estrema's Aloísio de Godoi. 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Oséas Vasconcelos got free with Sidnei Marquez in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
