Ronaldo Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, André Luiz Xavier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kaká Macedo. Caveira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that André Luiz Xavier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With a little luck, Codorna do Agreste's Sidnei Marquez got control of the ball when Deivid Mattos tried to sneak it across the goal line. André Luiz Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Macedo having to interfere. If Walmir Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Walmir Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 26 minutes, Germano Furlan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caveira and the Codorna do Agreste players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Caveira's Germano Furlan got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 31 played minutes Caveira got a freekick which was hit by Geovani Montenegro. Walmir Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Macedo having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, André Luiz Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Codorna do Agreste's supporters rose to their feet, but André Luiz Xavier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaká Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Walmir Pinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for André Luiz Xavier to strike the kick off in the second half. Walmir Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Geovani Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lino Valle hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. A hard shot 84 in the game by Walmir Pinho from a close distance when the talented Kaká Macedo managed to make a qualified save. Caveira's players were relieved. Codorna do Agreste's Benê Barreto suffered a sore thigh after 84 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to Caveira getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Lino Valle hit a great ball. After 95 played minutes Codorna do Agreste got a freekick which was hit by Amadeu Pinheiro. When the final whistle sounded Codorna do Agreste left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Caveira.
