The supporters of Saiterovisk Soccer Club booed when Avante FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vítor Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Isaltino Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, Kléber Souto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Avante FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saiterovisk Soccer Club the free kick. Saiterovisk Soccer Club's Tadeu Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Eduardo Correia in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Catarinense in the 18th minute of play forced Avante FC's goalkeeper Isaltino Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Luizinho Teixeira notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Saiterovisk Soccer Club's Tadeu Ribeiro. Tadeu Ribeiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luizinho Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Luizinho Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Avante FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luizinho Teixeira couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute Marcus Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaltino Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Isaltino Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Catarinense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 43 minutes, Danilo Meirelles made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Avante FC's Isaltino Peixoto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The Avante FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Saiterovisk Soccer Club were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vítor Catarinense was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Avante FC's zone, Vítor Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaltino Peixoto came out of the goal and Vítor Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Catarinense in the 55th minute of play forced Avante FC's goalkeeper Isaltino Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Isaltino Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaltino Peixoto having to interfere. Avante FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Vítor Catarinense scored to the left of an out of position Isaltino Peixoto, making the score, 1-3. Marcus Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Isaltino Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Vítor Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saiterovisk Soccer Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Catarinense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isaltino Peixoto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Vítor Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot. After a rather tough play, Avante FC's Germano Sanches got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Marcus Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcus Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaltino Peixoto having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Serafim Sanches hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kléber Carvalho hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
