Fred Machado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Codorna do Agreste's goalkeeper Sidnei Marquez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fred Machado. Sidnei Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agostinho Couto in the 22nd minute of the match. Walmir Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34thth minute of the game André Luiz Xavier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Borussia Dortmund's Pedro Campidelis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Borussia Dortmund's Pedro Campidelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Pinho in the 38th minute of play. The audience was convinced that André Luiz Xavier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Campidelis was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. If André Luiz Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sidnei Marquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Couto in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Luiz Xavier made a kick off. André Luiz Xavier blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Campidelis having to make a save. The Borussia Dortmund supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Codorna do Agreste's performance. The match ended with a win for Codorna do Agreste.
