Ramiro Maranhense hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, São Paulo's goalkeeper Patrick da Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nilson de Queiroz. Dida Andrade made in the 21st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Pindorama's Reynaldo Capixaba. Patrick da Rocha was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Remo Moreira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Remo Moreira really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomé Rosado to make the kick off.
