In the 4th match minute, São Paulo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Rosado to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute Tomé Rosado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luan Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Patrick da Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. São Paulo's Patrick da Rocha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save São Paulo from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, São Paulo's Ademar Borges got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 25 played minutes, S.E.R. LAÍNI's Luiz Guilherme Fantini shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Patrick da Rocha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in S.E.R. LAÍNI reached it. Patrick da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luan Urbano in the 26th minute of play. Zé Paulo de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Edvaldo Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erik Matos hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. If Renan Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the game, one of S.E.R. LAÍNI:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for São Paulo. Ramiro Maranhense stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Edvaldo Toledo. 1-1. With a little luck, São Paulo's Patrick da Rocha got control of the ball when Renan Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

S.E.R. LAÍNI's Edvaldo Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save S.E.R. LAÍNI from getting a goal against them. When Zé Paulo de Souza fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored São Paulo's protests and gave Zé Paulo de Souza a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of S.E.R. LAÍNI booed when São Paulo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Paulo de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 minutes of play, S.E.R. LAÍNI's Luan Urbano made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patrick da Rocha was left in no man's land by his defense there! 71 minutes into the game, Tomé Rosado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Edvaldo Toledo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Renan Senna in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patrick da Rocha saved São Paulo from getting behind. S.E.R. LAÍNI's Edvaldo Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save S.E.R. LAÍNI from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardinho Linhares during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 80th minute, Ricardinho Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind S.E.R. LAÍNI's goalkeeper Edvaldo Toledo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Luan Urbano came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the S.E.R. LAÍNI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luan Urbano couldn't finish the play. S.E.R. LAÍNI's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fernandão Mangueira in the 88th minute. A nice corner shot did that Fernandão Mangueira got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Patrick da Rocha quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Ricardinho Linhares was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 90 minutes had been played. In the 90th minute, Ricardinho Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomé Rosado in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edvaldo Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. São Paulo's Patrick da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renan Senna in the 95th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renan Senna in the 97th minute of play forced São Paulo's goalkeeper Patrick da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The São Paulo players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented S.E.R. LAÍNI from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
