Spectators: 7015 (Terracing: 5390, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ramón Alagoano took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Marco Breckenfeld notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Dragão Carioca FC's Victor Simões. Victor Simões was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusébio Severo in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victor Simões prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Quirino kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Dragão Carioca FC defense, Marco Breckenfeld kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victor Simões. The Dragão Carioca FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victor Simões should have stopped the shot. Victor Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Breckenfeld, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Victor Simões came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Itaubal's Vladimir Munhoz. But to his dismay, Vladimir Munhoz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Victor Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramón Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Breckenfeld scored 0-4 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Victor Simões, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 35th match minute, Itaubal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percival de Lima to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Itaubal booed when Dragão Carioca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vágner Bezerra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Victor Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramón Alagoano in the 53rd minute of play. If Ricardinho de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Itaubal's Ramiro da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner Bezerra in the 58th minute of play. Victor Simões made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Breckenfeld in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute, Jonathan Camargo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramón Alagoano in the 81st minute of the match. Victor Simões was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marco Breckenfeld showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 86 minute of play. After 89 played minutes Itaubal got a freekick which was hit by Mazinho Vale. In the 90th minute Válter de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Itaubal supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Itaubal would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
