The Itaubal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ramiro da Costa should have stopped the shot. After 7 played minutes, A. D. 2 DE JULHO's Percy Duarte shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ramiro da Costa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in A. D. 2 DE JULHO reached it. In the 9th minute, Itaubal's Ramón Alagoano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Iuri Freire. Iuri Freire yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. 1-2 became the score in the 12th minute when Fiori Matos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Ramón Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaubal's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramón Alagoano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iuri Freire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ramón Alagoano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Iuri Freire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramón Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iuri Freire having to interfere. If Marco Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fiori Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the game, Vladimir Munhoz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itaubal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A. D. 2 DE JULHO the free kick. After a rather tough play, Itaubal's Vladimir Munhoz got a free kick in the 36th minute. If Fiori Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 41st minute, Percival de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramón Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iuri Freire having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ramón Alagoano made the kick off in the second half. Fiori Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Válbson Paraense got free with Ramiro da Costa in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marco Breckenfeld recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Válbson Paraense came free with the goalkeeper in the 65th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ramiro da Costa could save by the left post. In the 67th minute Ramón Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iuri Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A. D. 2 DE JULHO's Nilson Carioca got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 72nd match minute, Itaubal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusébio Severo to maneuver through the defense. Vitinho Proença's shot from long distance in the 73rd minute was not bad at all, but Itaubal's Ramiro da Costa knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. If Válbson Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramiro da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fiori Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th match minute, Itaubal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amauri Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. Fiori Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro da Costa having to interfere. After having played for 84 minutes, Fiori Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A. D. 2 DE JULHO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fiori Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fiori Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Ramiro da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute Ramón Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iuri Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
