Allan Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro da Costa having to interfere. Allan Vianas short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Ramiro da Costa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Ramón Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramón Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Mazinho Vale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itaubal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fenix FC the free kick. Ramón Alagoano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernardo Lara having to make a save. If Ramón Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 44th minute, Marcos Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Jailson Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenix FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jailson Salles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramiro da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After having played for 56 minutes, Ramón Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itaubal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramón Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Jailson Salles notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Itaubal's Ramiro da Costa. Ramiro da Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bernardo Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramón Alagoano in the 89th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramón Alagoano in the 90th minute of play forced Fenix FC's goalkeeper Bernardo Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
