João Augusto Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho de Salles having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Morrinho SC's goal looked a bit too open when Durval Catarinense came free, but Fernandinho de Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Augusto Amorim in the 19th minute of play forced Morrinho SC's goalkeeper Fernandinho de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernandinho de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldinho Fernandez in the 54th minute of the match. If Ronaldinho Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Universidade Capixaba's João Augusto Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. During the 97th minute of the match Frédson Nascimento completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Frédson Nascimento a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. If Durval Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
