Albertinho Paes started the match with the kick off. When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, José Pedro Mangueira took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Diogo de Sousa to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Tarcisio Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Tarcisio Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diogo de Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tarcisio Arce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Diogo de Sousa made a huge save. 12 minutes into the match, Costa Rica Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Gildo Leme came free, but Danilo Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Cacutu's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro Mangueira came free, but Diogo de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Danilo Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertinho Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the match, Cacutu's goalkeeper Diogo de Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tarcisio Arce. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gildo Leme in the 33rd minute of play forced Costa Rica Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Danilo Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Albertinho Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If José Pedro Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diogo de Sousa made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Tarcisio Arce sent off a good shot on target. José Pedro Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo de Sousa having to interfere. Diogo de Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Pedro Mangueira in the 45th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Pedro Mangueira to strike the kick off in the second half. Diogo de Sousa came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica Esporte Clube's José Pedro Mangueira. With 73 minutes on the clock, Fabrício Salgado commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 72 minutes into the game, one of Costa Rica Esporte Clube:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 74th minute there was a penalty for Cacutu. Cássio Madureira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Danilo Arce. 3-1. Tarcisio Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cacutu's goalkeeper Diogo de Sousa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tarcisio Arce struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Diogo de Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica Esporte Clube. If Tarcisio Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Costa Rica Esporte Clube had played much better football throughout.
