Spectators: 7176 (Terracing: 5384, Seating: 1650, VIP seats: 142) Cristiano Medeiros came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Salimen's Edmundo Bastos. But to his dismay, Edmundo Bastos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpected shot in the 12th minute by Dalmo Furlan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Edmundo Bastos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristiano Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Bastos, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 23 minutes into the game, Dedé Jacinto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of David Xavier. Dedé Jacinto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Dedé Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Xavier having to interfere. David Xavier had great luck who in the 28thth minute grab hold of the ball when Dedé Jacinto from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival Bittencourt in the 30th minute of play forced Ihla grande's goalkeeper Cristiano Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Salimen's goalkeeper David Xavier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Dedé Jacinto fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of David Xavier, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Salimen booed when Ihla grande was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silas Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dedé Jacinto to strike the kick off in the second half. When Dalmo Furlan came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Ihla grande fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dalmo Furlan couldn't finish the play. David Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmo Furlan in the 63rd minute of play. Dedé Jacinto might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Xavier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dedé Jacinto ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 67th minute Dedé Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Benedito Catarinense fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salimen's protests and gave Benedito Catarinense a yellow card for diving instead. After 72 played minutes Salimen got a freekick which was hit by Benedito Catarinense. Dedé Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Xavier having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Dalmo Furlan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 84th minute Dalmo Furlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorival Bittencourt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Cristiano Medeiros made a huge save. Betinho Ferraz's late challenge caught a Ihla grande's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Betinho Ferraz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st match minute, Salimen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betinho Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 93 minutes, Dedé Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ihla grande's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedé Jacinto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ihla grande had played much better football throughout.
