Spectators: 7172 (Terracing: 5390, Seating: 1652, VIP seats: 130) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Narciso Abreu started the match with the kick off. Fernandinho de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Morrinho SC's Juan Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of CR Cachaça da Gama booed when Morrinho SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bebeto Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo José Siqueira, 9 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. CR Cachaça da Gama's Franklin Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Messias in the 14th minute of play. Franklin Pires came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Morrinho SC's Juan Messias. But to his dismay, Juan Messias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Juan Messias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franklin Pires read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Narciso Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Fernandinho de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tony de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho de Salles having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Tony de Toledo put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fernandinho de Salles. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Tony de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot. CR Cachaça da Gama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tony de Toledo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandinho de Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Narciso Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the CR Cachaça da Gama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Narciso Abreu couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in CR Cachaça da Gama's zone, Juan Messias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franklin Pires came out of the goal and Juan Messias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Doni Breckenfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. When Armando Simões fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Morrinho SC's protests and gave Armando Simões a yellow card for diving instead. After 58 played minutes Morrinho SC got a freekick which was hit by Armando Simões. 62 minutes into the game, one of Morrinho SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Tony de Toledo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 68thth minute, Fernandinho de Salles skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Fernandinho de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute Narciso Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandinho de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CR Cachaça da Gama's Franklin Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Messias in the 83rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tony de Toledo got free with Fernandinho de Salles in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fernandinho de Salles was a little too slow when Narciso Abreu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 99th minute. The score was now 2-2. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
