After a rather tough play, CR Cachaça da Gama's Hílton Koehler got a free kick in the 5th minute. Evaristo Paraíba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After recieving a nice pass, Dread Lion FC's Evaristo Paraíba tried to score from far away in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Tony de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Cruz having to interfere. A collision led to CR Cachaça da Gama getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Narciso Abreu hit a great ball. Franklin Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeu Quadros in the 21st minute of play. Tony de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Sérgio Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Dread Lion FC's Váldson Machado got a free kick in the 25th minute. Dread Lion FC's Sérgio Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony de Toledo in the 30th minute of play. If Romeu Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Vinhas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sérgio Cruz. Dread Lion FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tony de Toledo struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Sérgio Cruz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CR Cachaça da Gama. Sidney Capixaba's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Franklin Pires firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 47 minutes, Luizinho Marquez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CR Cachaça da Gama and the Dread Lion FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romeu Quadros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as CR Cachaça da Gama's Narciso Abreu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sérgio Cruz. That made the score 0-1 after 53 minutes of play. Sérgio Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Abreu in the 57th minute of the match. Sidney Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Pires having to interfere. The supporters of Dread Lion FC booed when CR Cachaça da Gama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narciso Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the match, CR Cachaça da Gama's goal looked a bit too open when Romeu Quadros came free, but Franklin Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute Romeu Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th match minute, CR Cachaça da Gama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Marquez to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute, Evaristo Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 79 played minutes, CR Cachaça da Gama's Paulo José Siqueira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sérgio Cruz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CR Cachaça da Gama reached it. CR Cachaça da Gama's Franklin Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Capixaba in the 94th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeu Quadros in the 96th minute of play forced CR Cachaça da Gama's goalkeeper Franklin Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
