Spectators: 7055 (Terracing: 5400, Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Albertinho Paes kicked off to start the match. Edmundo Bastos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 7 minutes, Edmundo Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salimen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Bastos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmundo Bastos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cacutu's Diogo de Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Bastos in the 11th minute of play. Dorival Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gildo Leme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but David Xavier made a huge save. Gildo Leme blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without David Xavier having to make a save. 25 minutes into the match, Salimen's Dorival Bittencourt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diogo de Sousa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Dorival Bittencourt came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Salimen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dorival Bittencourt couldn't finish the play. Dorival Bittencourt struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Diogo de Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salimen. After a rather tough play, Cacutu's Vitório Viana got a free kick in the 36th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Claudinei Fontes's late challenge caught a Salimen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinei Fontes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 65th minute Gildo Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Xavier came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Cacutu's Gildo Leme. But to his dismay, Gildo Leme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Joaquim Paraíba's late challenge caught a Cacutu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salimen's David Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gildo Leme in the 74th minute of play. During the 75th minute of the match Claudinei Fontes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Claudinei Fontes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Claudinei Fontes kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Salimen were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Cacutu's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Betinho Ferraz took the corner. The corner led Salimen's Joaquim Paraíba to fire away a dangerous shot which Diogo de Sousa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Diogo de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Bastos, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Cacutu's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Edmundo Bastos 85 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. David Xavier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gildo Leme in the 90th minute of the match. Gildo Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
