Diogo de Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeu Quadros in the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of Cacutu booed when Dread Lion FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ezequiel Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sérgio Cruz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Albertinho Paes went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 35th minute Romeu Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Romeu Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Váldson Machado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diogo de Sousa. Cacutu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Váldson Machado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 44 minutes into the match, Dread Lion FC's goalkeeper Sérgio Cruz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gildo Leme. If Albertinho Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Dread Lion FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sérgio Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertinho Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sérgio Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gildo Leme, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After a rather tough play, Dread Lion FC's Hélder Souza got a free kick in the 60th minute. Gildo Leme scored 2-2 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sérgio Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 65 minutes into the game, Hélder Souza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cacutu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dread Lion FC the free kick. In the 71st match minute, Cacutu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus das Neves to maneuver through the defense. Romeu Quadros might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diogo de Sousa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romeu Quadros ran back to his position shaking his head. Gildo Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Sérgio Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gildo Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Cruz having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Sidney Capixaba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
