Tiago Gabriel Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Vergílio in the 3rd minute of the match. San Pauli FC's Tiago Gabriel Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Vergílio in the 10th minute of play. With a little luck, Brejui SC's Mateus de Toledo got control of the ball when André de Sousa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 15th minute, Romeu Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jairo Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Gabriel Gerber having to interfere. Augusto de Salles struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Tiago Gabriel Gerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brejui SC. In the 22nd minute, Augusto de Salles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tiago Gabriel Gerber was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Adilson Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Mateus de Toledo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eriberto Maciel's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Diego Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André de Sousa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mateus de Toledo having to make a save. Augusto de Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fellipe Vaz was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 45 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, one of Brejui SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Brejui SC. In the 47th minute there was a penalty for San Pauli FC. Manoel Sanches stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mateus de Toledo. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eriberto Maciel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Brejui SC's Romeu Nóbrega got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After 55 minutes of play, Brejui SC's Jairo Vergílio made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tiago Gabriel Gerber was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet as Brejui SC's Jairo Vergílio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tiago Gabriel Gerber. That made the score 2-3 after 64 minutes of play. After having played for 75 minutes, André de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Pauli FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but André de Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 79th minute, Igor Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute André de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateus de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. San Pauli FC's André de Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 90 played minutes Brejui SC got a freekick which was hit by Diego Valle. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Brejui SC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
