After 10 minutes, Robinho Toscano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Roma FC and the Aguacu AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Roma FC's Robinho Toscano got a free kick in the 10th minute. Robinho Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvaldo Zanette having to interfere. Edvaldo Zanette made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robinho Toscano in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Roma FC's Giovanni Falcão got a free kick in the 24th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Aguacu AD's Arnaldo Maia tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Roma FC's Délio Guedes got a free kick in the 26th minute. Roberto Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio de Queirós blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edvaldo Zanette having to make a save. Nico Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Nico Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frédson Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Aguacu AD's Edvaldo Zanette played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robinho Toscano in the 55th minute of play. When Nico Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Aguacu AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nico Alcântara couldn't finish the play. 63 minutes into the game, Christiano da Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Roma FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aguacu AD the free kick. The referee gave Aguacu AD a penalty, 65 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Arnaldo Maia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Roma FC's Frédson Silva. 1-1. Roma FC's Júlio de Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frédson Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Baptista in the 78th minute of the match. If Roberto Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute Nico Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frédson Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
