Mário Mazza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Zézinho Ceresso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 19th minute Rubinho Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Ceresso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josué Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Waldir Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laércio Sampaio having to interfere. Apiaca SS's Laércio Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldir Vidal in the 31st minute of play. In the 35th minute of the match, Rubinho Borges tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zézinho Ceresso saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 36 minutes into the match, Apiaca SS's goal looked a bit too open when Guto Camargo came free, but Laércio Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josué Diniz couldn't finish the play. Apiaca SS's Laércio Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luís Vides in the 60th minute of play. Ruy de Sousa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Laércio Sampaio made a huge save. The Burno f.c players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
