After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Rubinho Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Apiaca SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Rubinho Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrão Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aírton Prado kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Pedrão Abraão made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Mário Mazza sent off a good shot on target. Ediberto Lopez kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Mário Mazza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Pedrão Abraão made a huge save. The supporters of Apiaca SS booed when Estremo SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wanderson Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Luiz Vides kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. If Dieguinho Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Estremo SS's Oswaldo Gomes got a free kick in the 19th minute. Mário Mazza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Pedrão Abraão when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 26th minute, Rubinho Borges fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Pedrão Abraão, passed just outside the right post. Rubinho Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Pedrão Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Jefferson do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mário Mazza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedrão Abraão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Rubinho Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Pedrão Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mário Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Estremo SS's Pedrão Abraão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Estremo SS from getting a goal against them. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rubinho Borges to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elano de Mendonça in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedrão Abraão saved Estremo SS from getting behind. Rubinho Borges might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedrão Abraão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rubinho Borges ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 59th minute Mário Mazza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrão Abraão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Mário Mazza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Apiaca SS's Mário Mazza got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Estremo SS's Pedrão Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubinho Borges in the 68th minute of play. After 69 played minutes Estremo SS got a freekick which was hit by Charles Cordeiro. Apiaca SS's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Wanderson Chaves 74 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. When Rubinho Borges came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Apiaca SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubinho Borges couldn't finish the play. Wiliam da Fonseca hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Pedrão Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Apiaca SS's Rubinho Borges got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Estremo SS getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Charles Cordeiro hit a great ball. Pedrão Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Apiaca SS lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
