Spectators: 7239 (Terracing: 5431, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hugo Paraense started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in ELOC's zone, Luiz Paulo Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel de Toledo came out of the goal and Luiz Paulo Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th minute of the match Váldson Borges shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Samuel de Toledo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luiz Paulo Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Samuel de Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cacau SS. The supporters of Cacau SS booed when ELOC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th match minute, Cacau SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Pernambucano to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Josué Xavier got free with Faustão Messias in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Faustão Messias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléberson Meira in the 28th minute of play. Hugo Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Samuel de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faustão Messias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Paulo Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel de Toledo having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Toninho Pernambucano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cacau SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Cacau SS getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Diamantino Gaúcho hit a great ball. Faustão Messias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kléberson Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 72 minutes into the match, ELOC's goalkeeper Samuel de Toledo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Paulo Barbosa. Luiz Paulo Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel de Toledo having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Josué Xavier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Hugo Paraense kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Samuel de Toledo. That made the score 0-2 in the 95 minute of play. The ELOC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cacau SS's performance. The match ended with a win for Cacau SS.
