In the 9th minute Nico Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustão Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cacau SS's Hugo Paraense got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Luiz Paulo Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Aguacu AD's goalkeeper Edvaldo Zanette had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Paulo Barbosa. Hugo Paraense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Paulo Barbosa got free with Edvaldo Zanette in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Aguacu AD getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Diguinho Cruz hit a great ball. With his leg Edvaldo Zanette managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Cacau SS's Luiz Paulo Barbosa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Roberto Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustão Messias having to interfere. Faustão Messias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nico Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Cacau SS's Faustão Messias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nico Alcântara in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hugo Paraense was the one to do the kick off. Edvaldo Zanette didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hugo Paraense went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Paulo Barbosa during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nico Alcântara in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faustão Messias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Nico Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nico Alcântara in the 67th minute of play forced Cacau SS's goalkeeper Faustão Messias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Aguacu AD's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Paraense came free, but Edvaldo Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valdo Mattos charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdo Mattos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Aguacu AD's Valdo Mattos got a free kick in the 77th minute. Luiz Paulo Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aguacu AD's Edvaldo Zanette played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo Barbosa in the 83rd minute of play. Faustão Messias didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 87th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. After 91 minutes of play, Cacau SS's José Augusto Fonseca made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edvaldo Zanette was left in no man's land by his defense there! The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
