Spectators: 7225 (Terracing: 5420, Seating: 1662, VIP seats: 143) Goyandira's Clemente Ortiz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Clemente Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Goyandira's Robinho Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luís Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrézinho Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute, Váldson Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho Borges in the 13th minute of play. Luís Antunes came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Caveiras FC's Ernani de Salles. But to his dismay, Ernani de Salles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 18th minute, Inácio Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, Goyandira's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Carneiro came free, but Luís Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Giuseppe Cardoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goyandira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caveiras FC the free kick. Giuseppe Cardoso hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Silas Sousa missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 29 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Luís Antunes right hand side. Elivélton Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robinho Freitas in the 32nd minute of play. João Paulo de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Goyandira's Luís Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrézinho Borges in the 41st minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Andrézinho Borges made the kick off in the second half. Elivélton Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemente Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Goyandira's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Andrézinho Borges scored to the left of an out of position Luís Antunes, making the score, 0-3. After a rather tough play, Caveiras FC's Gonçalo Saraiva got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 66th minute, Clemente Ortiz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elivélton Cabral was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After 69 played minutes Caveiras FC got a freekick which was hit by Váldson Velloso. After 71 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Goyandira! An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrézinho Borges in the 77th minute of play forced Goyandira's goalkeeper Luís Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
