Curitiba Eagles's supporters rose to their feet, but Agnaldo de Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laércio Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anselmo Pinho during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Laércio Antunes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luizinho Peixoto in the 14th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Luiz Simões in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedrinho Ceresso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 20 minutes into the match, Guarani FC's goal looked a bit too open when Percy Melo came free, but Laércio Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agnaldo de Castro got free with Laércio Antunes in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute, Percy Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guarani FC's Pedro Luiz Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedrinho Ceresso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luiz Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedrinho Ceresso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Luiz Simões's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Caetano Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarani FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Caetano Salgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrinho Ceresso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedrinho Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Simões in the 38th minute of play. Pedrinho Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Pedro Luiz Simões made the kick off in the second half. When Pedro Luiz Simões came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Guarani FC fans jumped to their feet. Pedrinho Ceresso was a little too slow when Caetano Salgado got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-2. Caetano Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Pedrinho Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Benedito Guimarães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curitiba Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guarani FC the free kick. Benedito Guimarães kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Guarani FC's Ramiro Pernambucano managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Augusto Reis in the 71 minute of the game. Pedro Luiz Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Pedrinho Ceresso managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when Guarani FC's Pedro Luiz Simões fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Guarani FC's attentive Anselmo Pinho managed to snatch the ball when Simão Sousa made a throw-in in the 80th minute of the game. A hard shot 81 in the game by Pedro Luiz Simões from a close distance when the talented Pedrinho Ceresso managed to make a qualified save. Curitiba Eagles's players were relieved. With a little luck, Curitiba Eagles's Pedrinho Ceresso got control of the ball when Duda Meirelles tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Percy Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Luiz Simões in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Pedrinho Ceresso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Pedro Luiz Simões who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Pedrinho Ceresso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Pedro Luiz Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match was over Guarani FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Curitiba Eagles throughout the match.
