The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Percy Melo made a precise shot to the right of Umberto Tavares. Chameleon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Willian Sarmento kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The Curitiba Eagles fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Curitiba Eagles's Percy Melo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Percy Melo in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Umberto Tavares saved Chameleon from getting behind. Miguel Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Pedrinho Ceresso made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Curitiba Eagles's André Luiz Fonseca got a free kick in the 34th minute. Horácio Sá was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Percy Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Tavares having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Percy Melo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Umberto Tavares was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Pedrinho Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Cosme in the 51st minute of play. Pedrinho Ceresso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Miguel Santos went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. In the 56th minute, Augusto Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agnaldo de Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Umberto Tavares made a huge save. The supporters of Curitiba Eagles booed when Chameleon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Renato Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedrinho Ceresso came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Chameleon's Miguel Santos. But to his dismay, Miguel Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. In the 80th minute Percy Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Umberto Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute Luizinho Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Umberto Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Curitiba Eagles's Wágner Mendes got a free kick in the 88th minute. Umberto Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percy Melo in the 91st minute of the match. With a little luck, Chameleon's Umberto Tavares got control of the ball when Agnaldo de Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chameleon's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
