Perivaldo Pombal was out of position in the 16 minute of play, and Caetano Salgado capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Caetano Salgado really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Laércio Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After having played for 20 minutes, Anselmo Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guarani FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Guarani FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laércio Antunes should have stopped the shot. 29 minutes into the match, Lauro's goalkeeper Perivaldo Pombal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Luiz Simões. A sloppy throw-in by Lucas Barral in the 31st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Guarani FC's Gil Albuquerque. Laércio Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Laércio Antunes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gernando Fontes's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Pedro Luiz Simões scored 2-3 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Perivaldo Pombal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Laércio Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serginho Novaes in the 65th minute of the match. Guarani FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lauro the free kick. Yan Simão kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Guarani FC's Pedro Luiz Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Salgado in the 81st minute of play forced Lauro's goalkeeper Perivaldo Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
