Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) 6 minutes into the match, Sallesopolis FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho Tepedino came free, but Narciso Linares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 8 minutes, Tostão Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Young FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tostão Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Tostão Pombal came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Young FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tostão Pombal couldn't finish the play. Narciso Linares came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Young FC's Pedrinho Tepedino. But to his dismay, Pedrinho Tepedino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tostão Pombal in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Narciso Linares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pedrinho Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Narciso Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Narciso Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tostão Pombal in the 24th minute of play. Sallesopolis FC's Jardel Nunes pulled a muscle in his back after 25 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Joaquim Rocha's late challenge caught a Sallesopolis FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Rocha helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sallesopolis FC booed when Young FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narciso Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrinho Tepedino in the 37th minute of the match. Young FC were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Sallesopolis FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Douglas Dantas took the corner. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Tostão Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Young FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tostão Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Tostão Pombal scored 0-2 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Narciso Linares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Narciso Linares was a little too slow when Tostão Pombal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 0-3. When Joaquim Galvão fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sallesopolis FC's protests and gave Joaquim Galvão a yellow card for diving instead. Joaquim Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Tostão Pombals short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Narciso Linares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Narciso Linares acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 82nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vito Paiva. When Andrézinho Pernambucano came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Young FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrézinho Pernambucano couldn't finish the play. The Young FC fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Young FC's Tostão Pombal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Pedrinho Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlinhos Abraão hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Young FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
