Spectators: 7263 (Terracing: 5449, Seating: 1670, VIP seats: 144) The mood of the audience was pleasant when André Meireles made the kick off which started today's match. In the 4th minute Renan Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Penetras FC's Renan Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlindo Pombal in the 5th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Augusto Pinho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Renan Freitas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Penetras FC were furious when Frank Brito was red carded, 12 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Penetras FC! Penetras FC:s Renan Freitas showed great skill when he stopped Augusto Pinho:s penalty. After a defensive mix-up in Bagre Ensaboado FC's zone, Jorginho Cardozo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mazinho Zonta came out of the goal and Jorginho Cardozo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorginho Cardozo scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mazinho Zonta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jorginho Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mazinho Zonta having to interfere. Sidnei Vidal made in the 28th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Penetras FC's Guga Campidelis. 29 minutes into the game, André Meireles recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Renan Freitas. André Meireles showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. When Nestor Batista fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penetras FC's protests and gave Nestor Batista a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Penetras FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bagre Ensaboado FC:s goal. When Jorginho Cardozo came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Penetras FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorginho Cardozo couldn't finish the play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorginho Cardozo was the one to do the kick off. If Jorginho Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 59 played minutes Bagre Ensaboado FC got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldinho Abreu. Mazinho Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, Evandro do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guga Campidelis struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Mazinho Zonta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Penetras FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorginho Cardozo in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mazinho Zonta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 72 minutes into the match, Penetras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Barros came free, but Renan Freitas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, André Meireles made a precise shot to the right of Renan Freitas. Penetras FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Mazinho Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorginho Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Meireles in the 95th minute of play forced Penetras FC's goalkeeper Renan Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Penetras FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bagre Ensaboado FC.
