The referee ignored Travessos FC's protests and gave Geovani Mangueira a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Travessos FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Geovani Mangueira hit a great ball. Durvalino Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Charles Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nestor Lopez kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Igor Trigo kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Fernandinho Tavares acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 23rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Rui Coutinho. In the 24th minute Nestor Lopez suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. A collision led to Travessos FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Geovani Mangueira hit a great ball. Charles Bittencourt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fernandinho Tavares having to make a save. Charles Bittencourt scored 2-0 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernandinho Tavares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Travessos FC's Renan Melo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernandinho Tavares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 45 minutes CFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rui Coutinho who took care of the corner kick. Charles Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Charles Bittencourt made a kick off. Charles Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Tavares having to interfere. Fernandinho Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renan Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Pedro Luís Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Igor Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernandinho Tavares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 66 minutes, Josué Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Travessos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josué Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in CFC's zone, Noel Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandinho Tavares came out of the goal and Noel Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 71 minutes into the match, Charles Bittencourt notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of CFC's Fernandinho Tavares. Fernandinho Tavares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Noel Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Tavares having to interfere. When Charles Bittencourt came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Travessos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles Bittencourt couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in CFC's zone, Noel Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandinho Tavares came out of the goal and Noel Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 83rd minute, Charles Bittencourt made a precise shot to the right of Fernandinho Tavares. CFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. If Josué Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, CFC's goal looked a bit too open when Charles Bittencourt came free, but Fernandinho Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charles Bittencourt in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernandinho Tavares saved CFC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franklin de Senna during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 96th minute Charles Bittencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandinho Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Travessos FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
